Audax Randonneurs Philippines (Season 2019)

Producing merchandise for a community of long-distance cyclists

Audax Randonneurs Philippines, the country’s official organizer of Audax events under the Audax Club Parisien and Les Randonneurs Mondiaux, promotes the challenging yet rewarding sport of randonneuring. These timed, self-supported, long-distance cycling events range from 100km to over 1,3000km, testing riders’ endurance and resilience.

To support the organization’s growth and expansion of events nationwide, a 2019 merchandise line called “The Transition Kit” was conceptualized, designed and produced in collaboration with cycling brand, Off-Kilter. These items were sold online and on site to generate funds for the organization. The collection drew inspiration from one of the essences of randonneuring: the passing of time or the cyclical nature of day and night — a constant companion on these grueling journeys.

To kick off the season and the release of the Transition Kit, a teaser was produced to drum up hype.

The whole Transition Kit featured its unique pattern in black and red — the organization’s brand colors — on a cycling jersey, a cotton twill cap, a pair of cycling socks and 26oz bidons.

As a final piece to the collection, a set of four iron-on patches were designed to highlight the distances covered during the events that year. The shape of the patches corresponded to the number of sides and distances with each side representing 100km. For example, the 400km patch was a square, while the 600km patch was a hexagon shape.
