Giving an old brand a new set of legs


Runnr was at the top of its game as the first specialty running store in the Philippines but eventually lost its spot as new competitors entered the market and left them in the dust.

The new brand refresh is all about rediscovering Runnr’s core: for every runner there’s always a destination. Whether you’re a casual jogger, a seasoned sprinter, or a trailblazing explorer, one thing is certain: a path lies ahead, waiting for it to be taken. The new Runnr brand helps you stay focused on the journey, making sure you get to your finish line.

The old brand was in dire need of a facelift as it felt dated compared to the fresh newcomers in the space. It lacked a sense of consistency in packaging design and overall brand experience, making Runnr lose its footing as the experts in their category.

OLD RUNNR BRAND

The new logo design transitioned from harsh angles to curved strokes, tying into the idea of paths and the fluid journey that different runners take. The brand colors were expanded to include brighter hues to exude Runnr’s playfulness and vibrant energy.

The Runnr packaging system was simplified to highlight the product names and using color to separate the basic running line from the trail-specific merchandise. An iconography style was also designed to highlight product details.

A colored shoe tagging system composed of icons were designed to delineate the specific needs of runners depending on their type of gait. These tags made customers easily identify their ideal shoe from the store’s display shelves. This helped further instill Runnr’s leadership and expertise as the go-to running brand.

As part of the Brand Bible, it was important to articulate the nuances of the new packaging system to allow a consistent implementation of the new brand by Runnr’s in-house design team.
